Joint call for Mauritanian blogger’s immediate release

Reporters Without Borders (RSF) and 31 other human rights and free speech NGOs have issued a joint statement calling for the immediate release of Mohamed Cheikh Ould Mohamed, a blogger who should have been freed a year ago but is still held incommunicado. He was originally given a death sentence for apostasy but it was subsequently commuted to two years in prison on 9 November 2017, which meant he should have been freed then on the grounds of time already spent in detention.
