In China, no presents for Christmas
Organisation:
The famous dissident Liu Xiaobo was arrested in December last year and accused of “subversion” because of articles he posted online and his participation in drafting Charter 08, which called for democratic reforms in China.
He was judged on 23 December in Beijing in what Reporters Without Borders called a sham trial. He faces up to 15 years in prison. The verdict will be announced on Christmas Day at 9 AM Beijing time.
